About Us

Koha kenya is an Association of information managers, librarians and Information Technology specialists whose main goal is to foster the diffusion of open source technology in libraries and Information Centers across Kenya. Emphasis is laid on Koha as the Integrated Library System of choice because of its standard features and ability to enable greater co-operation and sharing of information resources.

As at October 2008, Koha Kenya is under a caretaker committee mandated to increase the number of institutions and members within this network even as the community lays down a strategy to penetrate other parts of the country and the region to popularize open source for libraries.

KOHA Support in Kenya

Kenya Koha Community offers invaluable commercial and non-commercial support for Koha especially implementation and training. To get premium commercial technical support, in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda,  Busara Core Solutions will be ideal. It is the only listed commercial Koha support company in the region. See Koha Community Support Companies at – http://koha-community.org/support/paid-support/continent/#africa

There are few local commercial support options, however, it is expected that with increased use and adoption of Koha, support will be readily available in the coming years.
